Frankly, I'm a little surprised that Ed Bryant beat Van Hilleary in fundraising this quarter, after Ed was mum about how much money he had raised. Then again, the folk I've encountered from Ed's campaign are probably savvy enough to realize that Van would make a big public deal about Ed being mum, when they knew all along Ed was going to be Van in the 4th Quarter in fundraising. Then again, how could you not beat Van in the 4th quarter coming off an endorsement from Tennessee Right to Life?

Then there's this. According to Bill Hobbs, the poster named "jo" says he was invited to a Nashville area political bloggers lunch featuring Van Hilleary. Except that Van Hilleary hasn't yet scheduled the lunch. I too encourage Van to meet with bloggers, because it's fun -- and bloggers are people interested in campaigns, and you can never go wrong meeting with someone who's likely to vote in the race, even if you know some of 'em are for the other guy.

By the way, Van supporters should stop lying on blogs under the assumption that it will impact the race, but that probably goes for Bryant bloggers too. Ah -- can't we all just get along?
