- The Tennessean, in an exclusive, looks at the Tennessee Highway Patrol under Governor Bredesen, noting that a background investigation has found that quite a few officers have criminal records themselves.
- The Commercial Appeal notes that the highest bidder may be able to own former State Sen. John Ford's lush home. Ford has been in financial trouble ever since the Tennessee Waltz sting, which uncovered Ford accepted cash for political favors.
- Frank Cagle looks at ethics reform in today's Knoxville-based MetroPulse: "Sunshine is a disinfectant that threatens the power of the leadership. Naifeh and his lieutenants control the flow of legislation primarily by use of subcommittees. That's where bills they don't like get killed. If all meetings were public and all subcommittee votes were posted on the Internet, bloggers, citizens groups and reporters could easily observe bills being killed."
- Sharon Cobb is looking into whether or not the blogger who runs "All the Noise" works for State government. I should not someone fitting the same IP range posted by Sharon left a comment on my blog some time ago- on this entry.
