I arrived late, but lunch with Senator Kurita was enjoyable today. It was good to see some fellow bloggers that attended Blog Nashville again and some, like Mark Rose and Sharon Cobb, for the first time. I only asked one question, but it was hard hitting enough journalism for Senator Kurita to respond with perhaps the only blatant non-answer of the soiree. I asked her simply, if she lost the primary what should would run for next. I noticed Kurita's communication guy snicker and then I got the non-answer: "we're going to win the primary." I'm still waiting on those porcine ells. In any case, I thought about pressing the issue, because assuming a Kurita-win wasn't a part of the question, but about that time the Senator was packing up to maintain her schedule. What's wrong with ambition anyway and why does every politican avoid the pragmatic realities of politics like the plague? In any case, my guess for what Kurita will be running for next is Governor- after Bredesen gets done.
