I reported yesterday that the state Republican Party called for a formal investigation on whether or not Senator John Ford (D-Memphis) lived in his district. Ford's two homes, it turns out, are both outside his State Senate district. However, Ford is registered to vote at his business, N. J. Ford & Sons Funeral Parlor, which is within his district. TCA Title 2 § 2-2-122 defines residency as "that place in which the person's habitation is fixed, and to which, whenever the person is absent, the person has a definite intention to return."
